Traditional Chinese Medicine has developed over the last 4,000 years based on
observations of nature and how we interact with it. It comes from a very
different approach than Western Medicine. It has been said that TCM is
macroscopic and Western Medicine is microscopic. There are attempts to
help 'Bridge the Gap' between the East and West in progress. Below you'll

Safety by non-medical acupuncturists (L.Ac.'s) versus medical or other
acupuncturists (C.Ac.'s, Chiropractors, etc) There are two groups of
people allowed to do acupuncture in Missouri: Practitioners with 3 years
of Masters level education (about 2-3,000 hours), supervised clinical
internship, and nationally board certified by the NCCAOM, and those who were
able to get an exemption to the acupuncture law and can practice with 100 hours
of training without national certification or internship:
